Obtaining Call Back Information

The Sleep Queen Asks: For customers that you don't successfully turn on the first visit but would like to be able to follow up with, does anyone have a successful new method of obtaining call back information that works with those that are hesitant to give out personal information. Some are better at this than others. I've tried asking (novel approach huh!), registration boxes for free pillows, etc. but am still not as effective as I would like to be. Maybe someone has an inventive way of wording the request that I could try to incorporate into my presentation.

Obtaining call back information

Try to be creative: I've succesfully implemented a "VIP" club membership. What is this? Simple: if a customer asks for a mattress price, I always reply by saying the suggested retail price, but if he's a member of our Vip Club, obviously the price is less (usually a 10% discount). Then 90% of times they reply: "No, I'm not a member, what do I have to do to enter the Vip Club" or "What is this Vip Club"? Then you reply by saying "By entering your name in our database, you've got amazing benefits over other people: higher discounts, newsletter, special offers, private sale, etc. best of all, the membership is free...". Obviously, you've got to create a very glossy plastic membership card, not something cheap! Hope this helps, bye fom Italy!

call back idea

knoxsleepqueen21 Thanks for the idea! Easily implemented at a low cost and simple to maintain with a scanner and our computer. Everybody loves to belong to something they feel is exclusive. Adds to that special feel. Our goal is to make our customers feel irresistibly different. Again, thanks for the tip.
